Assalamualaikum and jazakAllah khairan for the wonderful talk on my favourite topic:) It has prompted me to share a tip with you which I have found to be very useful in transforming my pessimism into optimism. It begins with realizing that our low moods are usually the result of some misdeeds which we do consciously or even unknowingly… so my remedy is to find out a quiet moment to be with Allah alone… like for example taking a walk and talk to Allah about how much I regret doing things against His pleasure and to please give me anothet chance to do something good… Following this I just focus on making a new plan for doing some extra good deeds… not too big list that would overwhelm me but rather some small do-able things both in worship of Allah and also in doing some small things for people around me. Somehow writing this “plan of action” puts me on a high mode of hopefulness and optimism and I begin to see that all is not lost after all… as long as the heart keeps beating it means Allah is giving us time to make up for the lost time… as He says in the Quran… Innal Hasanaat yuzhibnussiyyiaat… meaning: certainly the good deeds take away the bad deeds.
Hope it benefits others as well… Lots of love and duas
wassalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
Walaykumasalam Shaheen,
Wayakum, I am so glad that you enjoyed the talk ๐ Fantastic tip, didn’t even think about it that way! So true, we may not even be aware of some of the actions we are doing and then the sin or misdeed effects us on an underlying level impacting our moods.
Thanks for sharing!
