[Dua for Lost Item, This post has been previously published on MuslimLifeHacks.com ]

—

One day at my Islamic classes, an excited lady rushed into our room and said: “It worked. I found it!”

… What on Earth?

We, students turned our heads to observe our teachers reaction and to our surprise, she just smiled, said a few words (which I could not make out) and the class continued as though nothing happened.

We were puzzled and confused but not a single word about it was uttered.

As our class progressed, we somehow stumbled onto the topic of losing things and then our teacher told us about what happened earlier with the lady.

It turned out that the lady lost a precious piece of jewellery in one of the classroom and was running around frantically in search of it.

My teacher noticed this lady as she entered the building and advised her to make dua (supplication) to Allah to help her find her lost item.

So the lady quickly uttered a dua without really thinking about the words and continued to panic but my teacher held her on the spot, calmed her down a bit and told her to repeat the dua again slowly and this time to actually mean it.

After parting ways, within minutes the lady found her jewellery and stormed into our room in joy to let my teacher know that the dua worked! To which my teacher reminded “Of course it will work! All duas work!”

And this, my dear readers is what today’s hack is all about

It is a reminder to you all (including myself!) that the moment you lose something, remember to ask Allah first to help you find the item before beginning your frantic search.

Here is the dua that the lady made: Dua for Lost Item

Allahuma ya jami’ an-nas liyoumin la rayba feeh ijma’ bayni wa baina dhaaliti.

O Allah, the gatherer of mankind on the day in which there is no doubt. Join between me and my lost item.

(I could not find the English translation for it anywhere, so this was my little attempt at it. If you think it can be translated better then feel free to do so in the comments below! 🙂 ). Dua found in Kitab fath al qadir as shawkani. Traces back to Tab’ieen

There are also other variations of this dua that you may be familiar with but remember it needs to come straight from the heart. This dua (as with all duas) requires sincerity and firm belief that Allah will return this item back to you or even replace it with something better insha’Allah.

By the way if it ‘works’ then don’t say ‘it worked’ rather say ‘Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has answered my dua.

All the best! I pray that Allah reunites you with your lost item. 🙂

    Assalam alaikum!

So I had just read this post (and your other interesting posts) when DH messages me that he can’t find his keys

I think and think and decide to pull out your post to read the dua before I start my search.

As I said each word with my tongue I tried to reflect on the meanings and on the Greatness of our Creator. SubhanaAllah.

Lo and behold! Not long after a bit of looking I get a message saying that the keys have been found.

The lovely reminder we get from your post extends to our uttering of any dua, be it this one, a dua in our own language or supplications in prayer. Jazaki Allah khair

May Allah (s.w.t) make your blog launch successful!

I am used to saying ” Inna Lillah wa Inna Elaih e Rajei’un ” when something is lost, and it does help.

ALHAMDULILLAH SUBHANALLAH ALLAHUAKBAR! Jazakallah khairun for posting this dua sister! I lost something very important, I had looked for it several times with no success, even trying to remember saying Inna Lillah wa Inna Elaih e Rajei’un. Then I found your website and I said this dua three times, really meaning it and trying to reflect…then I got up and literally within the FIRST place I looked, in under a minute, I found what I was looking for! Despite having looked in that place once before and not finding it! Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala really did answer my dua :’)

    Salam everyone!,
I want to share my story when a few days back I lost my gold ring passed on to me by my mother, It was really close to my heart. I wore two rings one artificial and one gold, I left both of them on my table and a day after I saw the gold one was missing. I was in deep grief, cried buckets of tears and almost slipped into a depression. Searched for it everywhere but couldnt find it. Then I saw your blog and started reciting this dua so frequently that I learned it by heart. Just today as I lost all hope I read this dua and decided to search for my ring one last time and believe or not I found it! I FOUND IT by the grace of Allah!
May Allah bless you so much for sharing this dua ! May all those who lost their stuff find it too Ameen!

Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has answered my dua.

I have lost my wallet in a hotel room, I’ve looked almost everywhere and after repeating this dua many times, I have found it in the closet on the very bottom!

Some Advice from me is to be patient, it may take ages and it may take 20 minutes, always be confident that god is on your side.
